The Southern California Technical Processes Group (SCTPG) is seeking nominations for the position of Vice-President/President-Elect.
The Vice-President/President-Elect will hold that position from July 2014 to June 2015, then become the President from July 2015 to June 2016, and then Past President from July 2016 to June 2017. Throughout this three-year term, s/he is responsible for scheduling and running board meetings, liaising with ALCTS, introducing speakers at workshops, and related duties.
Please consider running for SCTPG office or nominating one of your colleagues. We encourage librarians and paraprofessionals from all types of libraries to run, including those new to the profession or SCTPG. In the past few years SCTPG has been actively involved in RDA training and workshops, but we haven’t been exploring all of the other wonderful aspects of technical services. So if you work in acquisitions, serials, digital collections, processing, metadata, authority work, or any other aspect of TS, we encourage you to get involved!

SCTPG is the local affiliate of ALA’s Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS). Established in April 1959, the SCTPG provides continuing education and networking opportunities to keep technical services library staff abreast of the latest issues and developments in the profession. Our programs generally focus on timely topics of vital interest to technical services professionals.
